Mom and Art Shower

The Shults' had a shower for mom and Art last night, complete with red heart balloons and entryway, red rose decor and chocolate fountain. It was fun to see my extended non-family "family" including buddy and jody, ms. conlan, the fabianos, shults and tacquards. Mom is very happy and excited.

Dr. H???

Just got back from lunch hour volunteering at Brack. Every time I am there, it reminds me of how much I enjoy ministering to people. Eucharistic ministering is an unexpected blessing in my life. It makes my heart happy to provide spiritual nourishment to patients who are in the hospital. Doctors can provide physical healing, but I hope that I can visit with them and give them a little hope. I visited 4/9 people who were in the ICU today... many of which could not take the hosts. Sometimes it's not just the presence of the Eucharist, but just saying hi and I am praying for you. Secret: I will also admit that i like walking around with a badge with all the doctors and nurses in the hospital.

dreams of espana

mike and i have really tossed around the idea of going to spain this summer. my sister is going to be there studying abroad, he's never been and i haven't really been back since i studied there in 1998. started looking into it a little more closely today and got very excited. we've had a lot of big purchases, lately, with the house, but I really really hope we can go.

i have such fond memories of being there. took many weekend trips to toledo, segovia, sevilla, granada with the other students. drinking cafe con leche and chocolate y churros in a cafe in segovia, wine in the park, la alhambra... want to take my love there, get out my "let's go" spain book a la 1998 and hit all the places i've already been to, but hold dear in my heart.
