Spring! And, a break

The weather this weekend was perfect! It's Spring Break week, so that means we have company coming for SXSW. Having company, even our sweet family in this case, always inspires me to maniacally do all the projects and decorating in my house that I've been meaning to do. This weekend, that meant Mike and JM cleaned the 2nd story windows on Saturday and I painted chalkboard paint on the walls of our tiny toy closet downstairs. It really felt good to get that stuff done.

With those things crossed off the list, we headed out to the lake house Saturday afternoon to meet up with spring breaking Pattie, Wesley, Joe, Pam and their 4 kids. Our lake house isn't very big, so it's always fun to see how many bodies we can cram in there. It was great to see all of them. Carly and Kayla are getting SO big and showed off their cool first grade tricks, including art and jumproping. Between the breezy lake winds, the food, JM's seamless (so far) adaption into the time change and life with a house full of people, it was really hard to leave last night, but some of us had to get back to work!
