And what was Aaron doing this whole time while we were swimming and having an afternoon brew? Taking a nap in his carseat. God bless that child.

Blue skies
Y'all, this is a really good phase of my life. I feel so blessed. This afternoon, we sat at a round patio table, surrounded by a few dear friends under some giant oak trees, while our kids ran wild at our neighborhood pool. I can't remember if I wrote about it or not, but we LUCKED OUT last winter when I randomly searched Craiglist for a pool membership for our neighborhood pool and by God, there was one, so I jumped on it. Our neighborhood pool is a hot commodity with a long waiting list (we were on it for FOUR years!!! prior to my lucky day). The dues haven't changed in like 20 years, so it's very reasonable in cost. It is a nice, but not fancy facility with a covered playground, tennis, well-kept pools and a basketball court. There are a set number of memberships, so it's not terribly crowded. The best part about it, in my opinion, is that they are very informal and don't care if you bring drinks, as long as they are not in glass containers. They also play really good music. We are having such a fun summer!
Look at John Michael jumping off the diving board! He has wanted to do this for a few weeks, but chickened out every time. With Noah's water wings, he finally got the courage to do it. And, then did it again eleventy-billion times. My favorite were the jumps in tandem with Michael. He is swimming SO well since the Swim Nazi. It was worth every penny.
And what was Aaron doing this whole time while we were swimming and having an afternoon brew? Taking a nap in his carseat. God bless that child.
